Privacy Policy

Summary. CreditScopes collects information you provide so we can match you with credit-monitoring and identity-protection services. We use TLS in transit and encryption at rest, we never sell raw personal data without your consent, and you can request access or deletion at any time by emailing info@creditscopes.com. Full details below.

1. Who we are

CreditScopes ("CreditScopes," "we," "us," or "our") operates the website creditscopes.com. We are a marketing platform that connects U.S. consumers with credit-monitoring services, identity-theft protection, credit-builder loans, and related educational content. Our registered contact address for privacy matters is info@creditscopes.com.

2. Information we collect

2.1 Information you provide directly

When you complete an intake form on CreditScopes, we may collect:

  • First and last name
  • Email address
  • Phone number
  • ZIP code and (optionally) state
  • Self-reported credit score range
  • Primary credit concern (monitoring, repair, identity protection, builder loan)
  • Whether you have checked your credit report in the past year
  • TCPA consent timestamp, IP, and consent language version

2.2 Information collected automatically

When you visit our website, we automatically collect technical information including:

  • IP address and approximate (city/state) geolocation
  • Browser type, version, and language
  • Operating system and device type
  • Referring URL and UTM parameters
  • Pages visited, time on page, scroll depth, and click events
  • Session identifier and visit duration

2.3 Cookies and similar technologies

We use cookies, browser localStorage, and tracking pixels as described in Section 6.

3. How we use your information

  • Matching you with services. Connecting you with credit-monitoring, identity-protection, and credit-builder providers that fit your stated needs.
  • Communications. Contacting you by phone, email, or text per the TCPA disclosure you affirmatively consented to.
  • Service improvement. Understanding how visitors interact with our site so we can improve flow and content.
  • Analytics. Aggregate, de-identified reporting on traffic sources, conversion, and content effectiveness.
  • Legal compliance. Meeting obligations under the FCRA, TCPA, CAN-SPAM, CCPA/CPRA, and other applicable law.
  • Fraud prevention. Detecting, investigating, and preventing fraudulent or abusive activity on the platform.

4. How we share your information

4.1 With affiliate partners

When you submit a form and provide TCPA consent, the information you submitted — including name, email, phone, ZIP code, and the credit-profile context you provided — may be shared with affiliate partners in the credit-monitoring, identity-protection, credit-builder, and credit-repair categories. Those partners will contact you regarding their offers in accordance with the consent you provided.

4.2 With service providers

We share data with vendors who help us operate the platform — including hosting, database, email-delivery, analytics, and fraud-screening providers. These vendors are contractually limited to using your data only to provide services to us.

4.3 Legal requirements

We may disclose information when required by law, subpoena, or court order, or when we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of CreditScopes, our users, or the public.

4.4 Business transfers

In the event of a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of all or substantially all of our assets, your information may be transferred. We will notify you by email or prominent on-site notice before your data becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

4.5 We do not sell raw personal data

CreditScopes does not sell your name, email, or phone number to data brokers or advertising networks without your explicit, affirmative consent. Sharing with affiliate partners under Section 4.1 is performed pursuant to your TCPA consent for the express purpose of fulfilling your inquiry; we do not treat that as a "sale" under the meaning of most state privacy laws.

5. TCPA consent and communications

By submitting a form on CreditScopes that includes the TCPA disclosure and checking the consent box, you provide your express written consent — under the Telephone Consumer Protection Act and its implementing regulations — to be contacted by CreditScopes and our marketing partners at the phone number and email address you provided, including via:

  • Calls placed using an automatic telephone dialing system (ATDS) or an artificial or prerecorded voice
  • SMS and MMS messages, including automated messages (standard message and data rates may apply)
  • Email communications

Consent is not a condition of purchasing any goods or services. You may revoke consent at any time by:

  • Replying STOP to any text message we send
  • Clicking the unsubscribe link in any marketing email
  • Emailing info@creditscopes.com with "Opt Out" in the subject line

Note: opting out from CreditScopes communications does not automatically opt you out from affiliate partners you have already been connected with. Those partners hold separate consent and you must opt out from them directly.

6. Cookies and tracking technologies

  • Essential. Required for the site to function (session, security, form state). Cannot be disabled.
  • Analytics. Help us understand aggregate visitor behavior — pages visited, scroll depth, session duration. Data is de-identified.
  • Tracking pixels. Image tags used for conversion attribution and affiliate tracking.
  • Local storage. Used by tools like our utilization tracker to keep your inputs across visits on this device.

Most browsers let you control cookies in settings. Disabling cookies may degrade site functionality.

7. Data security

We use industry-standard safeguards to protect personal information, including:

  • TLS 1.2+ for all data in transit (HTTPS site-wide)
  • Encryption at rest for sensitive fields in our application database
  • Role-based access controls and least-privilege provisioning for staff
  • Periodic security review and dependency monitoring

No method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure. If a breach affects your personal information, we will notify you as required by applicable law.

8. Data retention

We retain personal information for as long as needed to fulfill the purposes described here — including providing services, complying with legal obligations, resolving disputes, and enforcing agreements. Typically, consumer records are retained for up to 36 months after your last interaction with us, after which they are deleted or de-identified. You may request earlier deletion under Section 9.

9. Your rights

Depending on your state of residence, you may have the right to:

  • Know what categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you.
  • Delete personal information we hold, subject to certain exceptions.
  • Correct inaccurate personal information.
  • Opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information.
  • Limit use of sensitive personal information.
  • Non-discrimination for exercising any of these rights.

To exercise these rights, email info@creditscopes.com with the subject line "Privacy Request." We respond within 45 days of receipt and may need to verify your identity before fulfilling the request.

10. California privacy rights (CCPA/CPRA)

If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act and California Privacy Rights Act grant you the rights listed in Section 9 plus the right to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information as those terms are defined under California law.

Categories of personal information collected (last 12 months)

  • Identifiers (name, email, phone, IP address, device identifier)
  • Categories under Cal. Civ. Code §1798.80(e) (name, contact info)
  • Internet/electronic network activity (browsing on our site)
  • Geolocation data (ZIP, approximate city/state)
  • Inferences drawn from the above (credit-profile segment used for matching)

Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information

California residents can submit a do-not-sell/share request by emailing info@creditscopes.com with the subject line "Do Not Sell or Share." We process these requests within 15 business days.

11. Children's privacy

CreditScopes is not directed to anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If you believe a minor has submitted information to us, contact info@creditscopes.com and we will delete it promptly.

12. Third-party links

Our site links to third-party resources, including government sites (annualcreditreport.com, consumerfinance.gov, ftc.gov) and to affiliate partners. Those sites operate under their own privacy policies, and CreditScopes is not responsible for their practices. We encourage you to review the privacy policy of any site you visit.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy to reflect operational, legal, or regulatory changes. When we make material changes, we update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify users by email or on-site notice. Continued use of the site after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
